TAMUCC's clinical systems, one guide each
TAMUCC's graduate clinical process runs on a handful of named pieces: the preceptor you secure in Texas, Typhon's Clinical Site Directory, the affiliation agreement, the Preceptor Agreement Packet each semester, and clearance from your clinical faculty member. The guides below take them in turn from the FNP guides, handbooks and catalog, and point out where TAMUCC's documents disagree.

Which TAMUCC document settles what
The 2026-27 catalog sets credits and hour totals, the July 2026 MSN and DNP handbooks set program rules, and the January 2026 FNP Student Clinical Guide and Preceptor Guide set the working clinical process. When they differ, each guide names the source it follows.
If a question goes past what TAMUCC publishes, the guide names who answers, usually your clinical faculty member or the FNP Clinical Coordinator. Start with the placement process, or the Texas-only rule if you live outside Texas.

Which TAMUCC guides matter most before a first rotation?
The affiliation agreement and the Preceptor Agreement Packet, since hours logged before both are complete do not count. Start with affiliation agreements.
Does TAMUCC use Typhon?
Yes. FNP and DNP students log encounters and hours in Typhon, and FNP students search its Clinical Site Directory for sites and preceptors past students used. See the site directory.
