Why each quote starts with a conversation
No two TAMUCC placements ask for the same work. A 90-hour NURS 5624 rotation in San Antonio at a clinic already under a TAMUCC agreement is a different search from a 270-hour NURS 5746 capstone in a small Coastal Bend town where the practice has never hosted a TAMUCC student. A single price list would describe neither of them well.
So your placement advisor asks about the course, where you live, the weekdays you have open and the semester ahead, then sets out a written quote for the placement you actually need. You see what the search covers before it begins, and you decide with the whole picture in front of you. The same conversation tells you early whether your timeline fits the course you are planning.
What moves a quote
Six factors do most of the work:

Costs that are TAMUCC's, not ours
Some expenses in a TAMUCC clinical course go to the university or its vendors and sit outside any quote from us. TAMUCC requires every CONHS student to buy a CastleBranch tracker covering the background check, drug test and document manager, and expects it to be updated every semester. Details are on CastleBranch compliance.
Professional liability coverage is bought through the university, with the charge built into registration each academic year, and TAMUCC strongly recommends health insurance, which DNP applicants must show proof of for the length of the program. DNP students also pay a one-time charge to open an account on the clinical experience platform. Some agencies ask for an extra drug screen, and an agency-required repeat background check is one the college cannot waive. See liability insurance and health coverage.
Preceptors at TAMUCC volunteer
TAMUCC describes its preceptors as volunteers who help teach its graduate students. In return, the university offers an hours certificate at the end of the semester, generated from the Clinical Hours Log that the student, preceptor and FNP Clinical Coordinator sign, along with continuing education credit where the preceptor's certifying body accepts it, letters of appreciation and university awards for outstanding service.

Timing and the shape of a quote
Lead time is one of the factors in any quote, because it decides how many candidates are realistic. TAMUCC tells students a new affiliation agreement can take up to three months, and longer at large health systems, so a site without one only works when the calendar allows. With months to spare, the search can weigh sites on fit and drive; with weeks, it leans toward clinics already under a TAMUCC agreement.
TAMUCC's handbook says courses are taught once a calendar year, and hours cannot roll forward to the next term. Planning two rotations together, such as NURS 5644 and NURS 5645, lets your placement advisor look for a practice that can host both. Agreement timing is covered on affiliation agreements.

Questions TAMUCC students ask
Why is there no price list on this site?
TAMUCC placements differ too much for one number to be honest. Course hours, the specialty focus, your location, the time before the semester and the site's agreement status all change the work involved. A quote built from your details tells you what your placement involves, rather than an average that fits nobody.
Is a replacement search part of the placement?
Yes. Staying on call through the term is part of every placement we take on. If a preceptor withdraws, your placement advisor looks for a clinician who fits the same course and prepares the new packet details, since TAMUCC counts no hours with a new preceptor until that preceptor's packet is complete.
Does the quote include TAMUCC's CastleBranch or insurance charges?
Those are separate. The CastleBranch tracker, the university's liability coverage, any agency-required screening and the DNP platform account are paid to TAMUCC or its vendors. Our quote covers the placement work: the search, screening, paperwork preparation and support through the semester.
Can one quote cover several FNP rotations?
Yes. Tell us every course you want help with, from NURS 5624 through NURS 5746, and your placement advisor can set them out together, rotation by rotation. Do DNP, educator and leadership placements work the same way?
The mechanism is the same: a conversation, then a written quote. The work differs. A DNP search centers on an organization willing to back your project in a Letter of Support, plus a local facilitator, while educator and leadership searches look for a teaching or leadership preceptor for a 135-hour practicum.
