What to include in your message
A few details let us answer properly on the first reply instead of the third:
- Your TAMUCC program and track, for example MSN FNP, FNP Post-Master's Certificate or DNP Executive Leadership
- The clinical course ahead of you, such as
NURS 5644orNURS 5459, and the semester it falls in - The Texas city or county where you live, and how far you can drive for a weekday clinic day
- What is already done: your CastleBranch status, any preceptor leads, and whether you have checked sites in Typhon
- Any specialty gap, such as pediatric or geriatric encounters you still need
The more specific the message, the more specific the answer. A note that reads "FNP, NURS 5645 in the fall, Laredo, no leads yet" gets you a real plan straight away.

Questions that belong with TAMUCC
Some answers can only come from TAMUCC, and we point you to the right office by title. Your clinical faculty member clears your site, preceptor and start. The FNP Clinical Coordinator is TAMUCC's main clinical contact for FNP students and preceptors. The CONHS Graduate Advisor handles registration, your program plan and graduation, and the Affiliation Agreement Liaison in the Dean's Office handles agreements that expire during a semester.
Compliance items are managed through CastleBranch and your program, and DNP students take practice-experience approvals to their DNP chair. For preceptors and clinical sites
Texas NPs and physicians who would like to host a TAMUCC student can use this same form. Choose "I'm a preceptor (not a student)" as your program, and tell us your specialty, your practice location and the days you could offer. Clinic managers and site coordinators can reach us the same way, and a note is especially useful when your organization has a TAMUCC affiliation agreement in place or is open to signing one. Let us know which specialties you cover, which clinicians might precept and how many students your clinic can take in a semester. A site with a current agreement is valuable to TAMUCC students, because it spares them the longest wait in the process.

How quickly will someone reply?
A placement advisor replies once your message has been reviewed, by email, call or text, whichever you prefer. If your situation is urgent, such as a preceptor who withdrew mid-semester or a term starting within weeks, say so in the first line so the advisor can prioritize it.
Can I contact you before I start my TAMUCC program?
Yes. Applicants and newly admitted students often want to understand clinical placement before the first rotation. Tell us which program you are entering and where you live in Texas, and a placement advisor explains what the search involves and when to begin it.
Should I contact you or my clinical faculty first?
It depends on the question. Approvals, clearance and anything about your grade belong with your clinical faculty. The search itself, finding a qualified Texas preceptor and a site with a usable agreement, is ours. Many students do both in the same week: us for the search, TAMUCC for the sign-off.
Can I message you if I already have a preceptor?
Yes. Students with a preceptor lined up ask us to check the fit against TAMUCC's standard, confirm the site's agreement status or find a backup in case of a short-notice cancellation. A second name in reserve is something TAMUCC's own FNP guide recommends.
What if my question is about CastleBranch or immunizations?
Send it. We can explain where the item fits in TAMUCC's compliance list and what our CastleBranch guide says about renewals. Changes to the tracker itself go through CastleBranch and your program, since TAMUCC expects every item to stay current each semester.
